beleg calls túrin all sorts of nicknames, all the time... babe, sweetheart, love, honey, hon', darling, loverboy, sweetie, lovey... if it exists, túrin's been called it at some point

meanwhile, túrin is too embarrassed that he has FEELINGS and EMOTIONAL ATTACHMENT that he just never calls beleg anything. not even his name. he just says "hey. hey. hey. hello" until beleg turns around and says "what do you need pumpkinlove"

Beleg and the point at which he realizes that Túrin is not just being dramatic about his doom, that it is real (or he will believe himself dead that it’s real), that it will end in sorrow. The precipice when “let me take Thingol’s foster son under my wing” becomes “I’m walking into this burning building ON PURPOSE”. So many people give him outs! Thingol and Túrin and the whole outlaw band. It’s not that he doesn’t know what Morgoth’s wrath looks like either; Doriath is sheltered but he patrolled the edge of it and he was at the Nirnaeth. He’s on good terms with Melian, he’s aware of the power one of her kind can wield, he’s aware that Morgoth’s power is greater, and he still goes in eyes open and heart set….
