Personally, I started reading erotica online when I was 13 and I think it was a great development in my life, and I can’t think of a single time where I felt that lying about my age in order to access a website was a bad decision, even if I immediately clicked back out.
I’m glad I was able to assert some autonomy in this area and explore things on my own as I felt comfortable. This is something I wanted to be more vocal about given the increased censorship of material for kids and teens and right-wing pedo-baiting. My experience was very positive, and what would have made it even better was easy access to affirming guides on how to set boundaries, assess your own comfort level, or filter things you want to avoid, as well as information about grooming or fetish exploitation.
