I just finished the last chapter of Outlast The Forest and it was quite painful to read, but also beautifully written. Would you mind to expand on what you wrote in the notes, about the plausibility of your interpretation? Just out of curiosity....
Thank you so much, I’m glad you’re here in Turleg hell with me (and that you’re enjoying the story)!
All right, so I’ve been meaning to write this out for a while, but here’s my reasoning behind why I think the Gaurwaith’s captivity of Beleg went down Like That:
(warnings for discussions below the cut of rape/sexual assault)

‘If I stayed beside you, love would lead me, not wisdom,’ said Beleg.

I (1000+ M, awoke under the starlight of Cuivienen) want to date my mortal coworker (18M, scarcely out of his boyhood). Is the age gap too big?
Yeah, pretty much what it says on the tin. I know it might be a little weird with the age difference, but I’ve been hunting orcs in the marches with him for a few months now and what can I say, his awkward demeanour, scruffy facial hair, and orc murder skills have captivated me. Should I just go for it? ETA: he’s also the ward of my king which makes things a little awkward. Don’t want to lose my head for deflowering his foster son. Also, he might be under a curse.

Got no opinion on the age thing, but why would you want to shag a Man? Bro, that’s a little gross. I heard they don’t even brush their hair.

YES! Actually I could give you about 500 reasons why this is a horrible idea. But it seems like you’ve made your mind up :/

I love how, in this Version of the Children of Húrin, Turin kisses Beleg on the mouth. Tolkien wrote some gay shit..
oh the sweet kiss of death.... in the lays of beleriand, the unfinished verse version of the narn says he kissed him "open-mouthed" thats so...........

oh man, it’s so fucking sad to think beleg probably pondered and despaired over túrin’s mortality often and rightly assumed he would see his beloved die in a few decades and would carry that grief in his heart for the rest of his immortal life.
and then beleg ends up tragically dying first, at the hands of túrin himself.
