(sorry for being insane in your inbox) so i was having a heated daniel moment and remembered that the excerpt from his memoir read in ep3 says daniel was staring at his daughter in the back seat “seven years before car seats [were] mandatory.” i wondered, when was that? and found that 1985 was when car seat laws were put into place across the us. and like. the possibly unintentional implications are astounding. daniel already had a child by ‘78? at 25? he describes proposing to his first wife in paris “after he got his shit together.” not long after, apparently! and he quickly relapsed hard enough to be handing off the last of his money to strangers! louis’s comment about “time to watch your daughters marry” in ep6, which made me think initially that they were still young, also hits different knowing the elder would be 44 at minimum. also if they do an eternal sunshined devil’s minion i guess it would have to be speedrun?? idk!!! either daniel had a very busy 70s or they did not research the incredibly specific date they invoked in that (baller) quote and none of this matters and i am pacing my living room over nothing. so it goes.
