So. Headcanon that Turgon and Curufin both have significant damage to their hands - not enough to warrant a full amputation, but damage nonetheless.
Curufin’s hands and forearms have huge burn scars all the way up to the elbows, from holding on to his father’s body as he burned from the inside out. And Turgon is missing two full fingers and one cut off at the second knuckle, from holding onto his wife’s hands in the icy waters until she fell from his grasp.
