It is starting to feel like some people's resentment for the writing deviating from the books is because of the way the audience is responding by rooting and falling in love with Claudia and Louis instead of just tolerating/accepting these characters until Lestat take center stage. Like people bitterly telling people "Claudia die in the end while Lestat lives on so hahaha" like we don't already know this and some of us are already mourning Claudia. Like telling people that Lestat will become the center of the story while Louis is cast aside. Like we KNOW this, but that doesn't take away from the love we have for show Louis. It feels like they're trying to take way the joy and pleasure some fans find in loving Louis and Claudia because some fans are not falling all over themselves to proclaim how great Lestat is. Instead fans are taking an objective view of Lestat/Louis/Claudia actions in the show, and reacting base on that instead of basing their reactions on books that clearly favors Lestat.
It is kinda annoying because I don't get why that is necessary when the show have giving us 3 great interesting and layer characters being play by great actors.
I could never hate Lestat because he is so interesting. I am not rooting for him at this moment, not because I don't understand why he is doing what he is doing but simply because I don't agree with it. But I know I'm gonna be rooting for him later on because I want better for him, because I do love him and understand him in all his awfulness and evilness.
I am not rooting for Claudia and Louis because I think they're perfect angel and never do any damage but because I need to see them stand up and fight back, especially Louis. I know it's gonna get worst for both of them but I'm interested in seeing how they navigate that.
