Like, I'm sure Tolkien would make Narsil a sword that belongs to good guys and stuff, but the idea of Narsil being Maedhros sword (maybe even made by Fëanor himself) makes me so rabid.

Like, Elros taking the sword that caused so much pain, that belongs to someone he both loves and hates, and makes it into part of his own kingdom for the purpose of good.

That sword being then broken by Sauron and finally used to defeat him in its brokenness (something, something, the redemption in battle that Mae never gets, something, something, symbolism).

And its shard then reforged into Anduril.

Flame of the West.

This is a great point EXCEPT I will NOT see good Dwarvencraft mis-attributed to Fëanor. Fëanor and his kin aren’t the only skilled smiths in Middle Earth! Narsil was forged by Telchar of Nogrod, who also forged Angrist the knife which broke the Silmaril from Morgoth’s crown, as well as the Dragon-Helm of Dor-Lómin which Azaghâl gave to Maedhros in friendship, and Maedhros gave to Fingon and Fingon gave to Hador, and eventually Túrin inherited it to great (in)fame. By god, let the sword, too, have been a token a friendship between races! Maybe the helm was always kind of a gag gift until it found the mighty House of Hador, too big and heavy for an elf, and the sword was the true token of alliance! Or it was just a valuable trade item crafted by a master-smith of the Dwarves! Either way: Sauron can get fucked.

(Also, it would have been a hero’s sword when it was first Maedhros’s, if it was forged and gifted by Telchar—a hero with a sketchy, slightly murder-y past, sure, but only the once; and now lord-commander of the eastern Siege-line, the white fire of Himring, friend and rescuer of kings, etc etc.)
