You know, elves (or at least the royal ones) tend to be related to each other, right? And those who aren't, are either friends or enemies that go way back since everything elvish goes way back. By the Third Age, we seem to mostly have friends due to the marked tendency of enemies to kill each other and everything.
All of this to say: does every elf in LotR treat Legolas like Thranduil's Kid™️? You know? "As the son of my distant relative/old friend, you're now my honorary son"? Possibly the babiest of the entire extended elvish family?
The reason I'm asking is because of the hilarious (and definitely not canon but hilarious enough to be a headcanon) that Glorfindel really really really really wanted to go on the fun road trip* (*sneaking into Satan 2.0's backyard to destroy a cursed item) but Legolas is Just A Baby so if he wants to go, Glorfindel has to be a big boy and share his toys* (*fun little mortals to hang out with)

Btw just for the record, in this scenario Legolas and Aragorn each assume the other is the baby cousin they're babysitting. Legolas thinks he's watching over Elrond's Mortal Kid™️ while Aragorn thinks he's watching over The Youngest of Elrond's Honorary Kids™️

“Look, Glory, you already have several songs and lays and stories and at least one operetta written about you. Let some other elves have a turn, okay? I mean, Legolas didn’t even manage a passing mention in old Bilbo’s memoir. Let him have his time to shine.”
