just had a thought. so jin ling is supposed to be a sect leader now, right? he’s literally the only one left from the family and now he’s a sect leader. of course he isn’t entirely alone, he still has jiang cheng and wei wuxian. and they both, knowing what it’s like to have this amount of responsibility on your shoulders when you’re just a teenager, of course, would do their best at helping jin ling and not allowing him to deal with all this shit alone. but jiang cheng still would have to spend a lot of his time in lotus pier and wei wuxian would be in cloud recesses or traveling.

so what i am saying is what if mianmian heard about her best friend’s son becoming a teenager sect leader and having to deal with this shit almost on his own. and mianmian would be like, “you know, maybe it’s time for me to go back?” and i’m all for mianmian being independent from all the sect and not having to deal with this bullshit, but wouldn’t she be like the coolest aunt? she’s already equipped to deal with so many situations that jin sect can throw at you, she was dealing with them for jin zixuan. she was ready to stand her ground and not let other people affect her opinions when she was much younger. and now she’d older and even more confident and experienced. she wouldn’t let any bullshit past her. she wouldn’t let anyone mess with jin ling. 

anyway. mianmian for the coolest aunt/advisor

p.s. there is also this nice/sad element of this idea, because mianmian is like the only person who can share her pleasant memories of jin zixuan with jin ling. i’m sure that jiang cheng also got to know jin zixuan from his better side in the short amount of time that they had, but mianmian for the longest time was the closest person to jin zixuan. so yeah
