the reason the hobbit films got trashed by critics is because they went in expecting a fantasy film. but the hobbit films are not fantasy films. if you go into a viewing of the hobbit hoping for a fantasy film you will leave disappointed. if you watch the hobbit with the (correct, superior) view that they're an overly long and dramatic sitcom about a rotating cast of gay friend groups all using their beef with each other to avoid acknowledging their own interpersonal issues, however,
