@burstingbone it really felt overdone. I didn’t even know that they were turning the books into a TV series until a week before the premiere aired and I was the bts episode. Lestat is one of my favorite characters of all time and I’ve even warmed up to Louis because of Jacob but I understand that Lestat is a monster that love being a monster, that’s done some fucked up shit even to those he loves and I’m okay with that because it’s a fiction, a good fiction but still a fiction and Lestat is an interesting multidimensional, multilayered, complicated character that’s contradiction on contradiction.

@burstingbone when I watch a show like this. I don’t really have an expectations even if it’s built on an existing framework. I just go where the story takes me while coming up with theirs about what going to happen but I still keep an open mind. Admittedly, ep5 shocked me at first because it seemed like it came out of nowhere but after I had time to digest the episode and think I realized that it had been building for awhile. They kept pushing each other until they

We just thought the show would take us on a ride and we’d see where it went. All up and down SM, I keep seeing people questioning how they are going to come back from ep5. That tells me how much people lack comprehension and are very tunnel visioned because I can see a multitude of ways. Louis set Lestat on fire in the books and Lestat still wanted him back. @burstingbone this is a love story. RJ straight up said it. Sam and Jacob poured especially everything into their performances to bring these characters to life. They ARE Lestat de Lioncourt and Louis de Pointe du Lac. I mean how good do you have to be to have fictional characters possess you? How can anyone look at scenes like this and not see how much they love each other and how much they belong together even if they need a break?
