  8. charlottearthistory said: i apologise if anyone is upset by my interpretation of this painting. i made the mistake of not reading enough sources about the painting (as this one is not part of my university studies, i just like it as a casual art history fan), and i missed that the artist had a fisherman as a father. but my point is that art is subjective - i don’t understand the purpose of slamming someone because they had different ideas about the piece. i am a student and this blog is something i do for fun.
